Use MIDI notes to sync your sidechain timing. This is the only reliable way to stay in time in Ableton because delay compensation still doesn’t work properly! I wish I’d known about this earlier. Create a trigger rack sending to an external instrument -> send MIDI to the bus w/ the sidechain plugin, and select the plugin. — Make sure to send this to a friend and save them some stress 💪👌 Dial in the high pass filter on your compressor’s sidechain detection for bigger punchier drums. Start at 300 Hz and see the impact. Use it on the mix bus compressor, individual busses, and individual tracks. Especially useful with parallel compression. I overlooked this for years!
